Formula 1 Pirelli Italian Grand Prix 2024 - Transport Plan

From Friday 30 August to Sunday 1 September 2024, the 2024 Formula 1 Pirelli Gran Premio D'Italia will take place at the Monza Autodrome, for which a significant influx of spectators is expected.

Friday 30 August is dedicated to the two free practice sessions (1.30pm-2.30pm, 5.00pm-6.00pm).

The third free practice session (12.30-13.30) and qualifying (16.00) are scheduled for Saturday 31 August.

The Grand Prix will take place on Sunday 1 September starting at 3pm.

It is possible to reach the Monza Autodrome using different types of public and private transport: car, bike, train, bus, taxi.

For the occasion, a Transport Plan was developed by the Authorities in order to facilitate the inflow and outflow of spectators during the days of the event.

Available car parking

Car Parks open on Friday, Saturday, Sunday:

  • Green Parking: 500 m from GATE C and D, reachable via a pedestrian path; also available for motorbikes and campers.
  • Gold Parking: 1 km from GATE A and 1.5 km from GATE G, reachable via a pedestrian path; also available for motorbikes.
  • Orange Parking: 2 km from GATE A, reachable via a pedestrian path; also available for motorbikes (closing at 10.30pm every day).
  • Platino Parking: 1 km from GATE A, reachable via a pedestrian path.
  • White Parking: 600 m from GATE C, reachable via a pedestrian path.
  • Red Parking: 3.5 km from GATE G, reachable via a pedestrian path. Also available for buses.

Car parks open only on Saturdays and Sundays:

  • Brown Parking: about 1 km from GATE C and B, reachable via a pedestrian path. Also available for buses.
  • Violet Parking: about 4.5 km from Porta di Vedano; from Violet Parking park Violet Shuttle Bus is available, with terminal 5 minutes walk from GATE A - ROUTE.
  • Blue Parking: 5 km from GATE G; from Blue Parking Blue Shuttle Bus is available, with terminal 600 m from Gate - ROUTE.

The purchase of a Violet or Blue Parking includes 2 tickets for the relative Shuttle Bus on the day of validity of the parking. The Saturday-Sunday pass includes two Shuttle tickets for Saturday and two for Sunday.

The shuttles are active in a continuous flow with variable frequencies during the day (the frequency will be lower in the early hours of the morning to intensify in view of the start of the race, as well as during the outflow).

Each shuttle ticket includes round-trip travel.

The purchase of a Purple or Blue Parking includes 2 tickets for the relevant shuttle on the day the parking is valid. The Saturday-Sunday pass includes two shuttle tickets for Saturday and two for Sunday.

Special signs have been installed along the main roads of the area and near the car parks in order to direct the public along specific itineraries that protect the residential areas from through traffic as well as to avoid the transit of cars on roads specially closed for the event.

On the occasion of Grand Prix, there are two reference stations: Monza and Biassono-Lesmo.

Monza railway station

Monza station is approximately 6.6 km from the Autodrome and is reached by the following lines operated by TRENORD:

  • πŸš†S9 Saronno - Seregno - Monza - Milan - Albairate

Furthermore, some Eurocity trains between Milan and Zurich connection, operated by TRENITALIA, are scheduled to stop in Monza between 28 August and 1 September:

🚌 Shuttle Bus to and from Monza Station

To reach the Autodrome, the Black Shuttle Bus is available between the station (Piazza Castello - Platform 7 side) and Viale Mirabello (near Gate G, reachable on foot). Shuttle bus is available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7.30 AM to 8.30 PM - ROUTE

From August 1st it will be possible to purchase the integrated TRAIN + SHUTTLE ticket on TRENORD website.

The ticket includes a return journey by train to Monza station and the Black Shuttle Bus from Monza station to the Autodrome.

Biassono-Lesmo railway station

The Autodrome is also served by the Biassono - Lesmo stop on the S7 Milan - Monza - Molteno - Lecco line; it's located a few meters from GATE D.

On september 1st, 21 extraordinary trains are scheduled between Milan Porta Garibaldi and Biassono - Lesmo (while seats last).

Day Pass Trenord 2024

Return ticket from all over Lombardy to Monza or Biassono-Lesmo, available on all three days of the race (children under 14 travel for free with an adult): price 13 € flat.

Arriving by bus

Autodrome can be reached with the Z221 Sesto San Giovanni - Carate - Mariano Comense line, in connection with the M1 Milan metro, Sesto I Maggio FS stop.

From Friday 30 August to Sunday 1 September extraordinary rides are scheduled.

Arriving by bike and sharing mobility

Bicycle parking

Bicycle parks open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday:

🚴Viale Cavriga (Monza), near Gold Parking, 1 km from GATE A and 1.5 km from GATE G, reachable via a pedestrian path

These bicycle parks are positioned near the entrances to the Monza Park because of the circulation ban for bike within the park.

Sharing mobility

To support travel to and from the Autodrome, the scooter and e-bike rental service will be implemented, increasing the available fleet in agreement with the operators compared to the vehicles currently in circulation.

In particular, the service will be intensified along two lines:

➑️ to/from Monza Station, to guarantee an alternative to the use of the Black Shuttle Bus;

➑️ to/from the Violet Parking, in order to provide an alternative to the pedestrian route that the car park user must take to reach the park entrance.

Scooter and e-bike circolation is banned within the Monza Park.

Taxi e rentalcar with driver

The area for taxi and NCC parking is located in Biassono, Via Lombardia, near GATE B

How to reach Monza

By car and motorbike

From Milan

From Milan - Viale Zara: V.le Fulvio Testi, V.le Brianza, V.le Lombardia, RondΓ² dei Pini, Villa Reale, then entrance to the park from Porta Vedano or Porta Santa Maria alle Selve (only pedestrians and service personnel) .

From Milan - Piazzale Loreto: Viale Monza, Sesto San Giovanni, V.le Casiraghi, V.le Brianza, then as from Milan Viale Zara.

From Turin

A4 Turin-Milan motorway, then on the Milan-Venice until the Cinisello Balsamo-Sesto San Giovanni-Milan Viale Zara exit, then as from Milan.

From Como or Varese

A9 motorway up to Saronno, then SS 527 up to RondΓ² dei Pini, then as from Milan; or through Bovisio Masciago to Desio via Porta Biassono or Porta Vedano.

From Lecco

Road SS 36 up to RondΓ² dei Pini, then as from Milan.

From Genoa

A7 motorway to Milan, then Tangenziale Ovest towards Venice and Tangenziale Est. After the barrier:

  • exit nΒ° 16 direction Monza;
  • exit nΒ° 20 Vimercate direction Villasanta.
From Florence or Bologna

A1 motorway to Milan, then Tangenziale Est road towards Venice, from here the same from Genoa.

From Brennero or Venice

A4 motorway to the Agrate exit, then SP 13 for Monza or for Concorezzo with entrance at Porta Villasanta, or for Vimercate with entrance at Porta S. Giorgio or Porta Lesmo.

By train

Monza station is located on the Milan – Chiasso line and is reached by the S7, S8, S9, S11, RE8, RE14, RE80 lines, as well as by international long-distance services Italy - Switzerland. The station is about 6.6 km from the Autodrome and can be reached by bus or on foot.

By plane

Once landed at the airport, it is advisable to reach the main railway stations of Milan from where you can easily reach Monza.

The Alimonza minibus service is also available for direct connections to and from Monza (info and reservations: Tel. 039 3908983 – 039 322306).

Linate Airport

Linate airport is located east of Milan, about ten kilometers from the city center and about 25 km from the Monza National Autodrome (https://www.milanolinate-airport.com)

Malpensa Airport

Malpensa airport is located about 40 km from Milan and 50 km from the Autodromo (https://www.milanomalpensa-airport.com)

Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport

The Bergamo Orio al Serio international airport is located north-east of Milan, about 5 km from Bergamo, 45 from Milan and 40 from the Autodromo (https://www.milanbergamoairport.it)

Taxi e rentalcar with driver

Access to taxis and rental vehicles with drivers is permitted, but they will not be able to park inside the Autodrome. All people on board (except the driver) must be in possession of a valid entry ticket. It is possible to call a taxi in Monza with the appTaxi smartphone application (download here) or by calling the number 039-36379.

Autobus

The Autodromo can be reached with Z221 Sesto San Giovanni - Carate - Mariano Comense line (https://monzabrianza.autoguidovie.it/) and with 204 Monza - Vedano line (https://www.nordesttrasporti.it/).
